Horizon Journal of Psychology is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and research integrity. Our practices are aligned with the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All authors, reviewers and editors are expected to uphold these standards.
Authorship and originality
- Authorship should reflect a substantial contribution to the work; all listed authors must approve the submission, and all who qualify must be included. Contributions should be disclosed in an author-contributions statement.
- Manuscripts must be original, appropriately cited, and free of plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is not permitted.
- Redundant or duplicate publication, and inappropriate text reuse, are not acceptable. Submissions may be screened with similarity-detection tools.
Research ethics
Research involving human participants must have appropriate ethics approval and informed consent, and must respect participant privacy and dignity. Authors must state the approving body and confirm that the work was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and applicable local regulations. Research involving vulnerable groups requires particular care and justification.
Conflicts of interest and funding
Authors, reviewers and editors must declare any financial or non-financial interests that could be perceived to influence the work. Funding sources must be disclosed. Editors recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have a competing interest.
Corrections, retractions and concerns
The journal takes seriously any allegation of misconduct or error. Where warranted, we will publish corrections, expressions of concern or retractions in line with COPE guidance, and will cooperate with authors' institutions in investigating concerns. Please raise any concern about a published article or the editorial process with the editorial office.
Complaints and appeals
