Peer reviewers are the foundation of scholarly publishing. By evaluating manuscripts with care and generosity, reviewers uphold the quality and integrity of the research record. Horizon Journal of Psychology is building a community of expert reviewers, and we warmly invite you to take part.
Who can review
We welcome reviewers who hold a doctorate (or equivalent research standing) and have an active research profile in psychology or an allied field. Both established scholars and early-career researchers with relevant expertise are encouraged to join.
What reviewing involves
HJP operates double-anonymous review: reviewer and author identities are not disclosed to one another. As a reviewer, you will assess a manuscript's originality, theoretical grounding, methodological rigour, analysis and contribution; provide constructive, evidence-based and respectful feedback; and recommend a decision for the handling editor's consideration. The full process and criteria are set out in our Peer Review Policy.
What we ask of you
- Confidentiality. Treat every manuscript as confidential; never share, distribute or upload it to third-party or AI tools (see our AI and Generative AI Policy).
- Impartiality. Declare any conflict of interest and decline to review where impartiality cannot be assured.
- Timeliness. Return your assessment within the agreed window, or let the editor know promptly if you cannot.
Recognition
We value the time and expertise our reviewers give. Reviewers are acknowledged for their service and, with their consent, may record their contributions through their scholarly profiles.
